Growing up in the late 70's early 80's my friends and I would go to the Saturday matinees.
Growing up, my neighborhood movie theatres only had one screen. On Saturdays starting at 11:00am the movie would show a matinee. The Ridgewood theatre featured Kung Fu movies. Master Killer, The Octagan, and many others that I do not really remember. The Middle Village movie theatre featured science fiction and fantasy movies. I only went to that matinee twice, and thats because of a girl named Heather /images/graemlins/heart.gif
The Glendale movie theatre featured blood and gore horror movies. I mean some really gory flicks. Those movies also always had the rowdiest crowds. A lot more rowdy then the Karate flicks.
So, which movies did anyone go to?
A matinee would consist of two movies with a cartoon in the middle or something else to pass the time.
