Tonight it's the $200 NL game, while it won't have a 10k pot, it should provide some good action. Maybe this time people will actually post in it this time.

are these guys really this bad or do they just not care about the money?

Kevmath
02-19-2005, 10:22 PM
This is one of the smaller NL games they have with 3/5 blinds. If you watched last night's show (5/10 NL $500 min buyin), there were quite a few people who didn't seem to care about the money.

Also, Rick Nebiolo is playing at the table right now, so hopefully he'll give some insights when he's done tonight.

Another note, Denny has now welcomed us to Live at the Bike 4 times in less than 30 minutes, while the seat #'s have been explained twice.

Seat 6 is terrible

Kripke
02-19-2005, 10:34 PM
Who is Rick? What seat?

Burno
02-19-2005, 10:34 PM
I want to play with seat 2!

I need to play live more...

Kevmath
02-19-2005, 10:35 PM
I'd assume it's him, I've never had the pleasure of meeting him, but Bart really butchered his last name.

Good god the guy in this seat is horrific. Bart and Denny are hammering him and rightly so, but also applauding that the game has this fish in it.

Seat 6 posts his blind after rebuying and loses 100, heh

I once saw a guy blow through $800 in a $100nl game in an hour. He was insanely rich and on vacation w/ his wife.

Anways he busted 2x in a row twice and a bunch of people had $100 bills in front of them cause the chip runners couldn't bring them fast enough.

Kevmath
02-19-2005, 10:47 PM
It's best to use internet explorer if you want to view it within the web page, if using another browser, there should be a link to open it in windows media player.

When did A8o become a premium hand? Twice now Seat 7 has doubled up with KK v A8o.

Kevmath
02-19-2005, 10:57 PM
Note that they were with two of the looser players at the table (2 and 6), and both times an 8 came on the flop, which created those allin situations.

Kevin...

Russ McGinley
02-19-2005, 11:02 PM
Yeah I'm sure seat 7 was enjoying the action. He even thought he was beat on the first one when the third diamond hit the turn. Bart has had some fun with it. "Don't worry, he has nothing."

Kaz The Original
02-19-2005, 11:05 PM
The announcers really are weak tight. He's against raising AQ from early position (fine as it is) but cites his opponent turning two pair as a reason not to play it from early position.

Kevmath
02-19-2005, 11:09 PM
Another "name" player is Carl Frommer in seat 4, who appeared in one of the 2004 WSOP ESPN events briefly.

Not anymore. I like the how seat 2 showed his cards to the guy next to him trying to get advice or maybe some consolation.

Kevmath
02-19-2005, 11:13 PM
Rick played it smart, go allin, then turn away from the table to eat some chicken kabob. So Clahssic!

Kevin...

Kripke
02-19-2005, 11:14 PM
It noticed that too - by his reasoning, it would be wrong to raise AA too from EP. I don't think the commentator is a complete retard, some of his comments are just too influenced by the fact that he can see the players' cards.

- Kripke

Kaz The Original
02-19-2005, 11:15 PM
What # is the left of the dealer? 1? Does it go around clockwise from there?

Btw - I lvoe the reraising preflop with AJ to 80 and the call.

Kevmath
02-19-2005, 11:18 PM
You're correct sir.

Kevin...

Kaz The Original
02-19-2005, 11:18 PM
The other commentator is much worse, atleast that one understands the odds of flopping a set. The other guy mentioned "he'd see a flop" with 77 after 77 had open raised, was reraised, and it was a fair % (not sure exactly how much but it had to be atleast 25%).

Kevmath
02-19-2005, 11:22 PM
Now the bad player in seat 6 has moved over to seat 2, let's see how bad he plays in that seat.

Kevin...

Russ McGinley
02-19-2005, 11:23 PM
BWAHAHAHAHA and as soon as he leaves the guy who replaces him in seat 6 picks up pocket queens. I predict this guy will lose a lot more.

Kaz The Original
02-19-2005, 11:24 PM
haha he should have showed to make seat #2 (former seat #6) to go further on tilt.

jar
02-19-2005, 11:25 PM
What's the deal(no pun intended) with the dealers carrying their trays around? I've never played out west; so I've never seen this before. Are the dealer trays only used for making change and not for selling chips to players?

Kaz The Original
02-19-2005, 11:25 PM
Q4 of hearts to a raise from the new guy. That's special.

Kevmath
02-19-2005, 11:27 PM
I think you're correct sir on this one. That's what they have the chip runners for.

Kevin...

Russ McGinley
02-19-2005, 11:27 PM
And he moves all-in with a draw. Maybe the seat is rigged with a Dumbinator.

Kaz The Original
02-19-2005, 11:29 PM
"I knew my queen would have been good". That's classy.

Kevmath
02-19-2005, 11:32 PM
The 6 seat has usually had a really loose player sitting there. I still remember a hand from their first week where a woman rivered while having junk like A2, and immediately asking for a rack and leaving.

Kevin...

Russ McGinley
02-19-2005, 11:32 PM
ROFL!

"Here's what I'd do. I'd call the bet with pocket nines, and then when I flop a set I go all-in."

World Class Player: Denny.

Kaz The Original
02-19-2005, 11:35 PM
haha... that guy is awesome. "Thats where my gut would come into play"

Kevmath

4 hands :
47
97
68
58
all offsuit (might not be exact but gives the general break down of the hands... all two cards, unconnected, unsuited).

There's only two blinds people... what's the rest of your excuses?

Kaz The Original
02-19-2005, 11:37 PM
OH BUDDY! Another denny classic
"I was playing on the internet and got a similiar hand... I had 67 suited and I hit a straight or something"
starts droning off while the other announcer talks over him.

Kevmath
02-19-2005, 11:46 PM
I can't blame the guys on that one, the cards have been put up really slowly at times, and in that case they were given to the wrong seats.

Russ McGinley

This is the second time I've seen this, and while watching Jerry Buss donate to the 400/800 game was fun, this game is awesome. Clearly it's great entertainment and if/when they start charging for this, I think it'd be worth whatever they charge. I just hope their server can keep up with the ever increasing demand.

This is the first time I have seen this broadcast and I find it surprisingly good. I think the announcers are doing a reasonably good job. I've heard that they have not been hard on players, but as far as I'm concerned, they are not being hard enough on the players.

I agree that the video quality on the broadcast could be imprvoved. I also think that in the bigger no limit games where different colored chips are in play, somebody should be at the table and should be communicating bet sizes to the broadcasters.

-Michael

Russ McGinley
02-20-2005, 12:20 AM

CrazyN8

hehe...good work guys...we are getting the pot size and bet now!

Kevmath
02-20-2005, 12:22 AM
They've definitely been hard on some of the really bad players, along with much talk of people playing garbage hands. There's been plenty of hands where they're critical of how people overbetting hands.

About the video quality, it really is hard to tell what the seat numbers are and the difference between clubs and spades is difficult.

Did I just hear him plug POKERTROPOLIS?

from BonusWhores.com

Pokertropolis

Pokertropolis is blacklisted because they use poker bots (computerized players run by the house) at their tables. Their management denies this, but anyone who plays there will realize that they are not playing against human opponents.

For what it's worth, the bots do not appear to have any unfair advantage over the players. However, the fact that they are used and then lied about is cause for rather large concern about Pokertropolis.
Pokertropolis uses bots - BonusWhores (http://www.bonuswhores.com/blacklisted-sites.php)

Wonder if they'll mention THIS post on "Live at the Bike".

Russ McGinley
02-20-2005, 02:03 AM
Bart asked us to comment on the hand, unfortunately I missed most of it. Did anyone catch all the action? I know the board was 5-x-x-x-T with the river T completing a straight for seat 7 or 8 against seat 2's pocket 5's but I didn't see the bets. I caught a quick glimpse of the board and I thought I saw it as 5-6-7-9-T which would mean he caught his straight on the turn.

The commentary on that hand wasn't great because the guy with the set didn't have his cards on the glass.

Except for my QQ versus TT held by seat 5 (the young kid who really could roll chips over his hand) I held very little all night and ended up taking a small loss. I'm relatively certain I took a bunch of smallish pots with nothing near the best hand.

Seat 8 must have raised out of the small blind after limpers a dozen times. If I had a hand as good as 77 I would have come over the top all in. Instead I kept looking at 8-3 or something like K-3 offsuit /images/graemlins/mad.gif

I have never watched this before until tonight. This needs to be on TV! Man, I wish I lived in LA (not lower alabama). This game is sooooo juicy!

[/ QUOTE ]

Funny, I worked the no limit section from about 2:00pm to 5:30pm (PST) as a sort of floor/host since we are so short staffed (note that a floorman can't play, and as a host I am not authorized to make play of the hand decisions while a floorman is). In the past I noticed we have moved one of the existing $200 games to the nearby "Live at Bike" tables (anyone who doesn't want to play can maintain broken game status and transfer to another $200 game ASAP).

In this case there seemed to be interest in "Live At Bike" from all over the section, including some of the $100 game players. So I went from table to table and made sure interested players signed up on the separately maintained board. The game actually started about 5:15pm PST and of course when the game starts there is only $1800 on the table ($200 times 9 players).

To make a short story long, I thought the game was playing much tighter than normal in part because of the smaller stacks and the fact that seat 3 (Walt-one of the tighter players) got deep early.

I guess you guys didn't notice /images/graemlins/smile.gif.

Rick, - I thought you played well. I was holding my breath when you went all-in with the AJ vs KQ. I still can't believe he laid that down.

[/ QUOTE ]

Going into that hand it seemed like I didn't have a remotely playable hand for a long time and figured everyone sort of thought I was only playing strong hands. So when I saw AJ offsuit it looked like a monster and I open raised early for $20 ($15 to $20 is my standard open raise) and got about three or four callers. My stack had dwindled to about $150 before the hand started (note that in the $200 restricted buy-in NL game, you can't increase your stack (to a max of $300) unless you fall to $100 or below).

When the flop came K-J-x rainbow I wasn't in love with it but thought there was a reasonable chance that I'm ahead or if behind, not so far behind that I can fold to a raise with so few chips. I played with my stack a bit, and tried to make it clear that just a little smaller than a pot size bet (in this case $70 - my more or less standard bet into an $80ish pot when deep) wouldn't provide any ammo for a decent follow on bet so I pushed all $130.

"Fat Boy" in seat two (BTW, keep in mind he uses that nickname and likes it - also he isn't really fat, indeed looks like a good muscular athlete with a few extra pounds) apparently folded a better hand (I get conflicting stories, either KT or KQ). I've played with him a lot and in most of our showdowns he has paid me off with weaker hands so I guess he put me on the better king and didn't want to be seen paying me off for the hundredth time or so.
