So I get to commerce yesterday at like 1pm, and there was enough people on the waiting list to start up a new table.

We sit down and start playing. There was a big kook at our table whos move was calling on the flop and then pushing the turn with 1 pair. I made quick work of him when his KJ ran into my AJ....anways, he lost about $200 and left to find another table.

So a few hours later I hear this huge loud slam and then a bunch of cussing, and I look over and the guy is being restrained while cussing at some dude. Floor and security run over and immediatly grab the guy and throw him outside while the guy he like attacked is sitting calmly at the table.

Glad he didn't get mad at me or I would have been tossed around like a rag doll.

Good times...

Your not a big guy, you could probably escape quickly, how was the action with the poor weather? I imagine it was busier than normal, being a long weekend and rainy.

I don't know if I saw an empty table in any section of commerce, and at least a 20 person waiting list for $4/8 limit (I played $100nl, but I noticed a crazy list for $4/8 despite like 15-16 tables going)

the 4/8 and 9/18 there are crazy games(of course the highest game at that chip level). At least you got his $ before he got thrown out(I assume the guy at the other table did too)

I love pointing out that motto on their chips whenever some big commotion goes on.

Off topic -- what's the 6/12 like there? I've played the 4/8 a bunch and I love its craziness. But lately I've been cleaning up at the Bike 6/12 and considering playing Commerce's version. I fear, however, that it is a bunch of tight nits who want to clear out the detritus of the blue-chip games but can't afford the 9/18. Should one stick to 4/8 or 9/18 and avoid the 6/12? Or is the 6/12 a juicy game full of passive fish...

For one, the 8-16 at the Bike is just as good as the 6-12. I know nothing about the Commerce's 6-12 game.

I don't doubt it. I briefly sweated another 2+2er playing 8/16 and the table looked like a donkey barn.

Something about that 4/8 chip structure/psychology. I'll stick to the 6/12 for now for bankroll reasons (that extra $4 on the big bet adds up) but it's nice to know how soft those green chip games are. I'd almost go so far as to say the Bike 4/8 plays tougher than the 6/12. At least lately it has.

My next stop is to try out this Hollywood Park 6/12 everyone says is so juicy. For those who play it -- does its greatness come from LAGgy, wild players, or from passive and weak fish?

Doesn't HP have a different collection structure? Like pay on the button

The Commerce 6/12 is very soft. There are normally not many tables to choose from, when compared to their 4/8 or 9/18, but a solid, creative player should make 2BB+ without much of a fight. One of the things that makes this particular game less aggressive is that the Commerce 6/12 is populated by their resident old men (3 or 4 of whom you will see EVERYDAY), which play their expected weak-tight game. Since you have found success at the Bike, you should beat this one easier since the tight playing Props are taken out of the equation. For a game that will give you a much higher variance, the 9/18 will suffice.

By the way, HP does not have the button collection anymore. They took that away when the other casinos did also. Good luck.

Before I went there I had heard stories of how bad it was, and then someone said the motto on these boards as well and I thought it was a joke.

It turns out its much much funnier than that.

This further confirms the bdk3clash Theorem which states that the money most meaningful to the players will be wagered at the smallest NL table in a given poker room.

I too have wondered about the Commerce 6-12. The Hollywood Park 6-12 is my favorite game in LA, and the Commerce 4-8 is cool, but not as nice as the 6-12 HP. The Commerce 9-18 has kicked my ass the last few sessions and the variance of that game is killing me. Next time I'm at Commerce I'm going to give the 6-12 a shot.
