The blinds are t200 already, and I have 755 chips. However, UTG has been playing fairly tightly and raised only once in the last two orbits.

What buyin?

This is a tough one. His 500 raise makes no sense. If he had a monster, he'd call or min-raise. If trying to steal, he obviously needs to push. What does the 500 mean? I have no idea.

I guess if I had time to think I'd put him on JJ-88, ie a hand that confuses a lot of people in this spot.

Lately, I've been pushing in these spots. You could fold, then push on the next hand. If your steal works, you have 1000, but then post the blinds and you are right back to 700 with the blinds going up soon.

If you push here and win, you more than double up to 1700. I know the 2+2 mantra is blind stealing, but I think sometimes to have to take a shot if the reward is great.

Thanks for the reply! It's a 20/2 at Party.

If you say fold, what is your reasoning for doing so?

Zero folding equity, players to act behind you, and too high a probability that you are dominated by AK, AQ, or a large pp. Best case scenario is that you are up against JJ or less. But hands like AJ & AT are also possible. Basically you're probably about even money for odds to win the hand and the price of the call. I don't call those unless I'm absolutely DEAD. You're not quite there yet. I'd rather fold and push with 78s on the next hand.

That's basically what I thought. I did fold this, and then I pushed on the next hand, but I was told by a friend that this was crazy weak-tight folding.

Thanks for the input!
