I tried the search function and found nothing - I know that Harrington's 2nd book is due in May, but (other than the heads-up advice in HPFAP) are there any other current publications that directly refer to 6-handed play all the way to heads-up? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You might try asking in the Heads-up & Short-handed Forum. Also take a look at the articles by Jason Pohl here. (http://www.pokerpages.com/articles/archives/index.htm#pohl)

LOL it sounds like there's not much to choose from (hopefully HoH 2 will help). How do all the 2+2ers that play 6-handed get their education?

In my opinion SH is all about experience. You have to have the general principles down pat, but once you do, things are a lot less rigid and it's all about playing and observing thousands and thousands of hands.

splashpot's set of articles was very helpful, thank you. Being a quasi-beginner it's nice to see the difference in strategy between "normal" and short-handed play outlined somewhere. Since I don't have those thousands of hands observed yet, it's pretty safe to say that tournament end-game isn't my strong suit right now /images/graemlins/wink.gif

You know something I found helpful for short handed poker actually is that Poker Academy program. Even the basic edition has a really good program in teaching you what works shorthanded, what to raise with, to call with, etc. I was really surprised at what hands are considered winning hands when u get down to 2 or 3 people.

I was agressive with just one other at the table, this program and this board and articles helped tailor that aggression into a winning stratedgy.

Good luck.

If we are going to count that, then so does HPFAP.

As does Jennifer Harman's chapter in SS2.

There's also the following thread which helps mainly with 6 max play. I've found it to be quite useful for my transition into 6 max.

Have you read it? Ciaffone is one of my favourite authors and I bet my life he hasnt played a lot SH fixed limit because he is not saying very good things in that chapter (or in "improve your poker" on SH) and he is clever and normally says very good things.
