... makes a pot sized bet and enjoys the action from any king, any queen, or the remaining ace. Because if hero gives a free card and loses to a straight he will be really mad.

Suited Sixes nailed it. A ten or jack falling on the turn will make your hand very tough to play. You do not want to check and risk a free card. Two pair is fairly likely on that board, so I'd lead and let them play back at me. I'd bet about 2/3 of the pot, about 250, and be ready to call any raise. That's the best way to get the maximum value out of the second best hand.

If one of them happens to have JT, which seems to be likely, you've still got enough outs to call.

If they have hands that they'll readily fold (underpairs, one pair and a gutshot), you're not going to get any action from them on that board anyway. Don't worry about extracting money from weak hands, you won't get much. Worry about getting the most from their strong hands, and protecting your own from draws.

Regards,
Steve

I don't think just any Q or any K are likely to call a big bet. I think if you bet 1/2 pot it is enough to make it a bad call for the straight draw. Also 1/2 pot bet may induce a bluff or semi bluff from a pair with a draw.
