Well, I wouldn't play K8s here but assuming you did, I'd go ahead and call down the turn and river in the absence of any reads. The best I can put SB on is a heart flush draw or a pair of kings, since he was passive pre-flop. Maybe 2 pair, but it could just as likely be a Party maniac trying to bet you off a pot. Two more bb's lets you see the end witha 10 BB pot, I don't think your odds are less than 20% just because he's betting aggressively.

But I'm a newbie and I could be wrong, let's see what some of the vets have to say.

ed miller made a post once about why so many players arent crushing low limit holdem. you can find it in the FAQ. he provided an example in the post where his advice was to NEVER fold top pair heads up. it was a pair of aces instead of a pair of kings, but i think it still applies.

many times players will see what you did Pre-flop as a pure blind steal. If they hit the flop they may check-raise even without top pair especially without an ace on the flop. I've seen this done before. You have top pair with a decent kicker. It's possible you are behind but at least call down.

Table was very tight weak, I've never stolen the blinds so many times in any .50/1 table i've ever played at.

It was a read raise.

But yeah, I should have called down.

Your name looked familiar, so I went through my game played tonight, and it turns out we were at the same table--lol.

I took a look at the game you mention. My PT stats on this guy have him rated as a calling station, FWIW. (V$PIP aprox. 40%). He probably had a lower pair.

I'd have called him down with Kings.

I'm paying off for bettor or worse. You have a damn good hand. Do not fold.

Reads would be appreciated. Even tentative ones.

It would have troubled me a bit that both opponents showed aggression on the flop, but once it's HU on the turn I'm committed to showing down my TP here.
