Still trying to work hard on my river play and this stood out as an example. Would you pump the pot hoping UTG+1 comes along for the ride or just call taking UTG+1's call with you? I think the rest is pretty standard.

BB's 1st hand at the table, no read.
UTG+1 is your typical Party LP-P

Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (8 handed) converter (http://www.selachian.com/tools/bisonconverter/hhconverter.cgi)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with Q/images/graemlins/spade.gif, Q/images/graemlins/diamond.gif.

I'd overcall. I think UTG+1 will call here more than he'll fold.

I raise. If you call, you might get 1 more bet, but if you raise, you are guaranteed 1 more, as BB is at least calling, and UTG-1 is most likely coming along for the ride.

Of course.......if BB raises, do you have the confidence that he wasn't just slowplaying Kset? I would, and I would pay him off this time, but note that he had gotten the best of me.

The way it played out, its very likely that you have the best hand here.
If you call, you're going to get a max of 1BB if UTG overcalls here, sometimes 0. If you raise it, you'll get an extra BB from the big blind, sometimes two if he caps his slowplayed smaller set, sometimes 2 if UTG cold calls, and very rarely 0. Seems like I'd 3-bet it?

But don't forget that I should also have one of Vern's standard disclaimers.

Raise. I'd be very surprised to see BB fold. The chance BB folds is less than the chance UTG+1 calls or BB 3-bets.

If BB 3-bets, I'm capping.

BB can't 3-bet. Yes, re-raise is the clear choice here as explained above.
