Has someone paired the board?

Using general terms (I'm a computer guy, and smart, but not a math major), how do you approximate the chances that somebody's paired the board if, to keep it simple, you're playing 5-handed and everybody sees the flop?

Feel free to generalize and leave it to me to figure out more/less hands and later rivers.
