hi-
what do you think of this?

there are 6 players left at this $20 table.
i have been extremly shortstacked all game(only surviving on steals recently). this is the last 150/300 hand and i figured this is about the best hand i was likely to see before pushing any two cards next BB. UTG has been pushing most hands since the 100/200 level.

UTG (T1700)
MP (820)
CO (1000)
Button (1850)
Hero (SB, 850)
BB (1700)

Dealt to me: A /images/graemlins/heart.gifQ /images/graemlins/spade.gif
UTG goes all in (1710)
Co calls all in (1000)
I call all in for 700 more.

stupid?

You gotta to do what you gotta to do. Good call

I would expect you to win this about 1/3 of the time (one other ace out there and a pocket pair). If the table has been real tight I might gamble that a 700 push will get people to lay down or that I will have a hand where the odds of being in a 60/40 are pretty good. But I am not convince you will see AA,KK,QQ or AK enough to make passing up the chance to triple up.

Concurr, good play, you probably won't see a better hand before your down to 450 & then you're going to be hardly making a significane with a raise AI. If your not up against AK, id take any the chance to triple up even if you end up unfortantely being against QQ or KK.

hi
thanks for the responses and encouragement.
always have problems at these "tight" tables where there are 6 people in at high blind levels. feels like the bubble...but not really...

anyway. turned out i was up against KTs and 99. so i was 33% to win and triple up. sadly the flop was 988.
