I've recently been taking a shot at 5/10 full on party and am struggling to cope with the more aggro games. I've found that I'm suspecting that everyone is putting a play on me, so I'm calling down too much and LAGging it up more than is my style. Did I play this hand well?

fold pre-flop. if you were in the CO w/3 tight players in front of you, that's the only time i'd raise here.

after the flop, i play it the same.

strike that, i take a free turn card and fold the river UI to a bet.

Yeah, I'm new to dealing with stealing/defense as a major part of the game. Should I just be taking a shot at the blinds from the CO/Button with this hand? Or one in front of the cutoff? Can you guys point me at any good posts about starting hand standards and Are there any good archive posts about stealing/defense standards @ 5/10 full?

I don't think PF is that bad honestly. I would do this every time against tight blinds.

I understand the flop cap for a free river card, but then why do you bet the turn? For a free showdown? You have the best hand on this turn something like 1% of the time. What does SB really 3-bet PF then 3-bet the flop with that you can beat? Only possibility is AhKh and that's not really very likely. Betting this turn is even worse because you MUST call a checkraise (I'm surprised you didn't get C/Red here) with so many outs. You gotta take the free card here.

Check/fold the river UI.

does the fact that SB showed down AhJh make a difference? Or is that the exception rather than the rule?

MP3 is too early for blind stealing position, even if you have 4 tight players in front of you, if one of them calls, your hand is not best.

If the blinds are tight, I think preflop is OK.

I play everything postflop the same. I can't see not capping this flop. I bet the turn as well.

you also have CO and Button to worry about here.

i still think think MP3 is too early for a blind steal.

Yea, by "OK" I mean it may not be the best play and I wouldn't make a habit of it but it certainly isn't going to make much of a difference.

Wouldn't it be worth a call of a bet on the river? I would think there is a reasonable chance he was overplaying a draw on the flop since it's HU. His slowing down on the turn seems consistant with that. No?

good point, this is a good enough possibility given the size of the pot.

Raise preflop with tight players in MP3 what about a three bet what do you do?
Good players good cards Maybe on the button raise other than that fold.

Yeah I was thinking about it on my way to get some Chinese food and calling the river is good here, because your turn check will induce a bluff from a lot of worse hands.
