Hi All!

I hope this makes sense...

In my home game 8 player NLHE tourny-if the BB is 200, can the next person who raises raise anything more than 200 (like 201 or 289?) or does it have to be in 200 increments so that he can only raise it 200, 400, 600, etc.

And if he does raise, say 600, does the next raiser have to make it 1200 or does he only have to go in 200 incs. as well so he can bump it up to 800?

I hope you have a clue what I'm talking about...

Thanx!

You post the BB of $200. We're still using $25 chips at this point and I make it $825 to go because I'm a pain in the butt like that. The next raise must be at least $625, or $1450 to go. So then the guy behind me pushes all in for $1000. Everyone else folds. You CANNOT reraise, because he didn't reopen action by making at least a "half raise". I believe it's a half raise to reopen action, but it may be a full raise.

The minimum raise is based on the previous bet (the 200 BB in your example)... in increments of the lowest chip denomination in play so unless you are still using $1 chips a raise of $201 or $289 is not allowed. If he makes it 600 (i.e. a raise of 400) the next person must call the 600 or raise to a minimum 1000 (i.e. put in a minimum of 1000 total).
