Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (9 handed) converter (http://www.selachian.com/tools/bisonconverter/hhconverter.cgi)
Reads were semi-loose aggressive preflop slightly passive postflop. I'd had probably 600 hands with the guy. I'd seen him on a previous occasion play overcards too strongly preflop. More comments later.

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with Q/images/graemlins/heart.gif, A/images/graemlins/club.gif.
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">CO 3-bets</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, BB calls, Hero calls.

Flop: (9.50 SB) 7/images/graemlins/club.gif, 9/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 2/images/graemlins/diamond.gif <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
BB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, CO calls, BB calls.

Turn: (6.25 BB) 6/images/graemlins/diamond.gif <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
BB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, CO calls, BB folds.

River: (8.25 BB) 8/images/graemlins/club.gif <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, CO folds.

Final Pot: 9.25 BB

This is usually a bad line, especially when you don't have AK, but when you have the right read, betting out your overcards can be a successful play. Don't do this too often, especially against a 3-bettor who is more likely to hold a pair.

What would you have done if raised on the river?

I have noticed that rencently I have been using this line with unimproved overcards, but only HU. Against a more passive player, it often works, as you know when he leads, or plays back, he's got a hand. Against an aggressive player, or a tricky one, I don't know how often I would lay it down when he plays back at me.

With your reads, he probably has a very similar hand to yours, but can't see how he can be ahead, as you have led every street.

Nice hand.

The problem in this one instance is that he's not showing any sign of a pair from the flop play. Yeah he preflop 3-bet, but that could be anything. I 100% agree this is a bad line for anybody else, but I'm either folding the flop here UI or I'm betting out HU.

As soon as he flop called rather than raised, I knew I was money aside from the unlikely (and most likely bad) ace showing up. He'd shown little tendency to raise for a free card.

I really wanted to show this because I'd had a very good read on the guy, and occasionally betting overcards into traffic isn't at all a bad thing.

Me folding to a river raise is mandatory.
