Having moved up from .5/1 and 1/2 to 2/4 and 3/6, I find that the games are getting a lot tighter on average. You still see the occasional soft game, but where you had FlopS% of 50-60 at .5/1 you are, for the most part, stuck with round about 25-30 at 3/6.

Apart from exercising better game selection, what adjustments do you need to make to beat these games? In general there are 1 or 2 players with FlopS% of around 50% and 1 guy who's a bit on the loose side, say 28% or so, and the rest are <20%. There's quite a lot of preflop raising, I'd say at least 70% of pots are raised.

Any ideas?

Sit in the right spot.

Tighten up and work on isolating the looser/bad players with your strong hands.

play at night...

I play 5/10 and I don't think its much tougher than 3/6... in the middle of the day, the games are just friggin tough, whether it be 5/10 or 3/6... although 2/4 was a cakewalk.

I went to B&M recently and while I waited for 6/12, I played some 3/6... needless to say, playing online in the middle of the day really toughens you up such that B&M is really quite easy.

It took me a longer to beat 3/6 than I would have thought...

True, I don't think I've paid enough attention to my seating at the table. I can see that this could have a huge impact. The problem is - it's not that easy with long waiting lists and the randomness of which spot opens up to sit exactly where you want to sit. I will make an effort though.

Yep...I know what you're saying. I just find a few tables that I'm interested in, and then wait for a good seat and then meanwhile keep searching other tables. I'm getting much more picky.
