The other player had been stealing my blinds for the last 3 orbits. Should I have reraised all-in with the 8s? Should I give him credit for the king here? Any comments are appreciated.

No need.

Just give yourself credit for not hitting the flop you wanted that would probably take all his chips and win you the game.

Fighting with the big stack when you don't know where you aree in a pot and are out of position is probably rather dangerous.

Edit: At quiet times of day on here, you often have to wait several hours for a reply, but will usually get one.
Try not to bump for maybe a day and then if you've been ignored you'll probably get a reply
