Ok, I'm sure this one has been asked and answered before, but I'm planning a trip to Vegas in a couple of months and was wondering where the best place to play poker is. Haven't been to Vegas in a long time and have never played poker there.

I'm looking to play Hold'em 3/6 to 5/10 range and would obviously love to find the softest tables with the lowest rake in the nicest rooms. What are good places to check out and when are the best times to play.

I realize that there are probably dozens of places to get good games, so if not a specific recommendation, at least what are the places to avoid (e.g., dominated by locals).

I'd reccomend you play the 4-8 games at Mandalay Bay and Monte Carlo. Both these games have the $2 big blind and $1 small blind structure which allows you to play many more hands than the standard $4-$2 structure. Both rooms are very nice and the games are almost always loose-passive.

I'm going to put a recommendation for Boulder Station. It's a casino about 5 miles off the strip..Very soft 4-8 with a 1-2 blind structure....very passive, weak locals play there. It's where I've built my b & M bankroll...it's a little smoky, but well ventilated. It's probably the best place (and may be to only place) to play Ohama High...monster pots on every hand. They offer comps for 3 hrs of play...
