Can anybody give me a comparison for the 3/6 games vs. the 5/10 games @ caesars indiana. I've been doing well at 3/6 and am thinking about moving to 5/10 but I suspect that my win rate might be higher @ 3/6. Thoughts?

Over the last year I played the old 4/8 game and 5/10 almost exclusively while working my way up to the 10/20. Though I haven't played the new 3/6, I suspect it's on par w/the old 4/8.

5/10 is probably the least popular game at Caesars. There is seldom a list, and many use it to kill time while waiting for a 10/20 seat. The play can vary from quite loose to somewhat tight. That said, I consistently beat the 5/10 with good ABC poker, as there aren't many tricky players that play 5/10.

The main incentive to move up is the rake relative to pot size. The rake is the same for all games; 10% up to $5 (six on the weekend if I'm not mistaken) plus a dollar for the jackpot drop. Throw in a toke and you can literally see money disappearing from the table. Chop a pot and you've almost certainly lost money. 5/10 the rake doesn't seem as bad since the pots are larger, and 10/20 you hardly notice it at all.

If you're adequately bankrolled, move up to 5/10 immediately, and play a little tighter than you normally would until you get a feel for the game. Caesars 5/10 is still probably easier than Party 1/2.

They dropped the weekend rake back to $5, so it is 10%, $5 max with a $1 jackpot drop on games $5-10 and lower.

Things change around down there like the weather but that information is good as of two weeks ago.

There was a pretty big list for 5/10 this past weekend when I was there, but I would agree that it seems a lot of people are just there until a 10/20 game opens up. I would still say at least half my table were horrible players. We had a guy who would raise with any ace and any pocket pair and stay with them until the river.
