Headed up to AC for the weekend, wondering what 2+2'ers are gonna be there, and what limit's you guys are playing.

I'll be there saturday and sunday, playing 3/6, maybe 5/10.

As a side note, I've been playing the Borgata 2/4 a couple times a week at night. Anyone regularly play this game during the week?

Taj 5-10 is pretty good on the weekends, if you find a good table.

I'll be driving up tonight, playing through Friday morning, napping Friday afternoon, and playing again through the night. I'll probably be at the Borg 6/12 -- I'm guessing that 10/20 won't get juicy until late Saturday afternoon. Might slide down to the 3/6 if I decide I want to hang out with my friends and get drunk.

I will be there Sunday morning through Monday Night. I plan on playing in the Taj Sunday night tourn, but plans always fall through once I get off the parkway. I do not know if we'll play at Borgota, Taj, or Trop! I believe we are staying at Harrah's. My buddy has a suite for about 4 of us.

I will be wearing the coolest Granny Mae shirt ever made on Sunday night.

@#$%^&! - Called the Borgata this afternoon & found that they're apparently sold out of the poker room rate on Sunday AND Monday nights. This doesn't sound right... I mean Sunday night makes sense, but Monday night? What gives?

If I'm heading up there, and want to hit a different casino to plan & party with friends, which would you all recommend? Everything just looks so nasty on the "strip" that I've always gone right to the Borg, played/stayed there, and then gone home. Is Trump Marina a good idea if I want to play at Borgata & stay nearby?

Getting a room this weekend will be very difficult (if you're not willing to blow tons of cash, that is). President's Day is one of the biggest gambling weekends of the year. My advice is to stay just out of town in Absecon, etc.

I plan on trying out the 20/40 if I have a decent run at the other tables and the game looks good. Anyone have any thoughts on the 20/40 at the borg? I believe Avid plays that game regularly? Usually a good mix of lag/passive?

My friend played in that tournament...he was the deaf guy in a black cap (Aladinn - Las Vegas)... I was at the 4/8 tables....my gawd... for about 2 hours I had total junk...tropicana is RIGGED.... then later the loose cranky sweater college kids left and the more business major looking college kids joined in...which made the table VERY TIGHT only 2 or 3 seeing the flop....earlier there was this guy with one of those super shiny/mirrored sunglasses...I didnt know if I was in the ladies room or at the tables...

btw I was the one wearing the Card Player cap...

Will be going back today... probably check out Taj since want to get in the Omaha game....btw will be wearing my Black Pacific Poker cap

Ive only played it on weekend nights, its very good.

Sfer, Bunky and 3rd checkraise played it last week, loose passive to say the least. 5-6 to the flop unraised, 3-4 raised. I think sfer left up 20 bets, I left up 30, 3rdcheckraise left up a bunch as well. That game was off the hook though.

Anyone else play there last night. Had a fantastic run. One thing that I noticed is that I much prefer 2-5 to 1-2. Still a lot of limpers, but it seems much more predictable as in the 1-2 game people will limp in with absolutely anything, making post-flop play more difficult. If anyone was there last night, I was the guy in the back corner with the black Opus X hat and grey Calloway Golf shirt.

I was there late Thursday night and most of the second half of the day on Friday. Playing mostly 6-12. Action wasn't terribly great, but found some decent tables with some table changes. Still ran awfully cold (not a lot of good hands, plus lost KK and QQ both times I got each), though, and despite hitting quad aces on Friday, finished the trip down about $220. Oh well, what can you do.

i'll do my best to try and remember for you, so when you get there check the 6/12 list and maybe you'll get lucky /images/graemlins/grin.gif

as for my night, i'm glad i decided to go down for a few hours....had a fantastic night at 6/12, ended up +91BB (would have been less but bunky stopped by right as i was getting ready to leave and i won a few good pots while talking to him) - the action was just ridiculous tonight, i left because i had a killer headache otherwise i'm sure i could have cracked 100BB

so with that being said, i'll be down there again tomorrow, this time with the misses (who will be playing 3/6) - holla

p.s. the borg continues to outdo itself with waiting lists - even the 40/80 list was 30 deep, 2/4 was in the high 100's as was 1/2 NL - of course i guess it doesnt help that they only had one 2/4 table /images/graemlins/grin.gif - hell i got there at 11:15am and waited 2 hrs for my 6/12 seat...whee!

CCx, I was sitting at your table on Sunday morning for about an hour. I was going to introduce myself, but I was at the tail end of my session and the opportunity never really presented itself. I was in seat 6 with a black, button down shirt and jeans on (I took down a pot with KQ against you when the river paired jacks and I checked on the end, if that helps). That table was tight at times, but there were so many cold-callers with less than marginal hands that it helped out the tight stretches. There were at least two locals who played too loose and pretty poorly postflop. I had more than a couple bad beats and still finished up 11 BB. Guy wouldn't raise on the river when it was double paired and they had the nut full house or pulled the nut straight and "thought" they were going to split it. Very juicy game, I hope you cut it up after I left.

hey man, dont quite remember you (it was too early for me to be honest but after waiting 2 hrs yesterday and with a need to get the lady on 3/6, had to show up that early) but next time at least introduce yourself /images/graemlins/grin.gif glad you booked a win today, the table was very very loose passive - i cant tell you how many times i saw guys checking behind with the nuts on the river, at least 5 - one has to wonder if they even knew what the hell they were doing (saw a guy almost muck a flopped full house because he thought he only flopped a set)

i gave back 10BB today, was on the wrong end of a lot of my limpy hands, good hands didnt hold up (KK losing to 25s was my tilty hand of the day) - lots of loose calling stations but i couldnt keep up today - the better half got cleaned out over at 3/6, poor girl

sat next to 2+2'er dmk for almost the whole session which made a pretty bad table into a much better one just for the commentary alone - it was a riot most of the time (sup bro?), hope you ended up doing better man, had fun playing and shooting the sh!t with you - have a great time in monaco!

misterking, hope you got seated, when i put you on the list you were 58th! /images/graemlins/grin.gif

woohoo, and i got a free hat for a royal flush that never happened, so that's a plus - also nice to meet poker327 this weekend and good to see bunky and avid as always /images/graemlins/crazy.gif still +81BB for the weekend

The guy in the 10 seat was horrible. He called down to the river with any bad draw. I was in a pot that was 3-bet preflop with him and the guy in the 1 seat and my kings held up. The guy in the 1 seat was trying to guess your name. He was pretty aggressive, especially with his Axs hands, but seemed like a decent player (not sure, I didn't play long enough to get a good read).

Dude, the 10 seat was TERRIBLE...he wouldnt have folded anything to a $100 raise, let alone a $6 or $12 one....the 1 seat (guy who eventually guessed my name and almost robbed me a buck by cheating and asking my financee instead) kept getting hammered, made a trip to the ATM for an extra 200, and by the time I left at 6 he was up to nearly 800 bucks....he started raising and 3-betting almost everything preflop and just getting beat over the head by the deck. I've played with him quite a bit, he's pretty solid but was running bad early on.

I was play ing 6/12 on Thursday and Friday night. Found most of the tables to be very LP. My final table was probably the easiest to beat, but I just couldn't get anything going. There was one guy ("Tony"), who was guaranteed to bet whenever you checked to him, and he was in on almost every flop. There was one guy who announced that it was his first time ever playing, although he had read many books (and continually let everyone know that he had to call turn bets because he was "pot committed"). There was an old guy directly to my right who kept showing me his cards, which were usually total crap, but could be pushed off his hand regardless of what he had if you showed enough aggression. (Funny, at another table, I was sitting next to an almost identical player, who told me that he would have "had to fold" his top pair-weak kicker on the river if it didn't improve, since the other guy raised PF.)

On Thursday night, the guy to my right was a young black guy (maybe 22-25 age range), wearing a blue hat I think, who was good, and who I bet is reading this. Wanted to ask if he was a "good guy" but never got around to it.

For the first couple hours of my play, I was down. I flopped a full house on the flop but it lost to a better one on the river K4 (I was in the big blind) vs. KJ. Many of the pots early in my play you had to have the river help you, otherwise you lost the pot. Luckily I came back to finish up when eventually the calling stations and loose players' luck ran out.

First post here... I honestly don't keep up with forums but registered here today & will try to keep up.

Mike Gallo, I'm that deaf guy who you had the str8 against my trips of 8 with both of us in blinds at that 1st table of Trop's $150 tourney last Friday night. (Little did I know that the 6 at river certainly did you well, *winks*)

I recognized the pyramid, so perhaps we have bumped into each other before even if I go to AC like only twice a year or so. :-)

How did you fare in that tourney? I ran into cold streak in middle of tourney then finally protected my AKo by re-raising to my all-in to someone's bet pf with 1 caller; i only got the caller's call instead (he was big stack). Won it as he just had KQo. Guy who bet pf grumbled as he claimed he had queens, whatever, heh. I only had T3500-T4000 by then, weird.

Alas, few hands later, finally got a nice hand of A9s, called a minimum raise pf (800 from BB of 400). Hit the ace at flop of A4K. The woman bet strong at flop with T2000, almost raised her but chose to call her. Turn was a 9. She then looked at my chips & said she's all in (she had much bigger stack than i did). I did read her as solid but felt she may just have AQ or the like. I stupidly called her and was little shocked to see her having KKK. (KK with a minimum raise preflop, dangerous, my opinion... esp if the flop didn't have a K for her...yes, ppl may argue it's becuz they prefer to see if flop has an ace... but hmm...)

I was out with like 4 or 5 tables left to go... heck, it was only just my 2nd B&M tourney ever, both at Trop.

ccx -- thanks so much for your help getting me on the list. I owe you big time. I rolled in at about 6 on Sunday evening, and waited -- get this -- 2 and a half minutes for my 1-2 NL seat, sat there for 20 minutes, and got my 6/12 seat at that point. Unbelieveable, particularly considering the lists for both games were still quite long at this point.

For those that were playing Borgata Sunday night, Monday, and today, I had the black Party Poker hat on & had candy cane stacks of red/white when sitting 6/12 (annoying that others don't do this -- that game is awfully slow compared to others). I smashed the 6/12 game for about 50BB's on Monday, partially on the strength of a decent run when the game was 3 handed from about 4AM to 7AM.

I also did well at the NL (goofing off raising trash, and managed to flop some nice hands, including a flopped boat after raising 6BB pre-flop on the button w/72o... tasty!), so I took my profits & gave 10-20 a go for the first time (Monday night into Tuesday AM, back of the room). I was surprised to see that the play didn't improve much from 6/12... had a short-ish Asian guy to my left in a bright green shirt (not Evan -- I asked) if you were in the game or walked by. Loudmouth LAG in the 10 seat was stuck in the game apparently, played his way to even, which he wouldn't shut up about ("button raise coming in 2 hands..."), insisted on playing his button once doing so, and then in a moment of great karma managed to drop 350 or so back into the game before being dragged out by his friend. I think he said something about hawking his EZpass to cover the losses. I was HU in several hands with this guy, and lost more than I won, but mainly because he just flat out-flopped me (23o makes a pair of 3's to beat AQs, KQ beats JJ, T6 beats 99, etc.). I left when the game broke at about 3:30 AM Tuesday down 5BB feeling ok about my first experience in the bigger game.

So anyhow thanks again to ccx for hooking me up, and I hope to be back up at Borgata in the next few weeks.
