This is a party 10+1. I just was lost here. If I bet the flop I'm committed, but I didn't think I could call the all-in. The button was loose-passive, so I figured I had enough chips left to lay this down. Was this awful? Thanks.

if you think you have enough chips to lay it down, why did you even call preflop? what kind of flop are you looking for with JJ? if he had AK that clearly didnt help him. i duno about a 10+1 but i think its SOMEWHAT close between folding and pushing preflop, but definitely not claling and folding on the flop. if you call and get that flop, there is no way you should be folding.

Well you got the flop you wanted for your Jacks so the chips should be heading to the middle somehow

I agree with raptor that I dont like calling if you plan to check fold on this kind of flop.

no where even near somewhat, this is a sure fire push. there are three hands that have you beat and 2 hands that you are a coinflip against. in a heads up pot, this is an easy push. remember, you are just getting to level 3 when the good players are starting to loosen up. your loose passive opponent may be a very good player starting to wake up.

Yeah the $10 players are generally stupid. They could easily have something like A5s or 66 here. Sometimes they will turn over AA-QQ, but what can you do.

Pre-flop?

yes, unless you dont have the bankroll to account for some varience.

Thanks guys, I should have pushed it preflop or at least on the flop. I think 1/2 the problem is that I had almost the same situation earlier in the day and ran into KK. I need to stop looking for monsters under the bed I guess.
