I was confused. Villain would have bet a king on the flop, probably just called with a seven on the turn. Strassa's words, "when I'm confused, I just put all my chips in the middle" kept echoing through my head. Thoughts?

that check fold button would have a little black x next to it on the turn for me.

in that situation, you are going to win in a showdown against something that would not have called your bet, and anything that you will get action on will beat you

Why would a decent player bet the flop with a K? He can't call a reraise, and anyone who calls likely has him tied/beat. The field is large also.

But why wouldn't a decent player just slowplay the nuts?

So if you're sure he's a decent player, he's bluffing.

I took a while to think about folding. Button flashed his hand, A9o, and asked "you too?"

I'm still not sure if I should have gone with my read or not though.

Agreed. I'd have checked the turn. In pots where you have a good, but not great hand, unless you plan on a full-out bluff, it is better to keep the pot size manageable.
