I'm just starting to listen to his stuff, and I love it. The best two I have heard thus far are

i) Living for the city

and

ii) Redemption song.

The two worst are

i) I just called to say I love you

and

ii) Ebony and Ivory.

best parody of a stevie wonder song: Joe Piscopo and Eddie Murphy doing Ebony and Ivory:

You are black and I am white
You are blind as a bat and i have sight
Side by side you are my amigo, negro
Let's not fiiiiiiiight!

Overjoyed... one of my favorite songs ever, not just stevie songs..

02-15-2005, 09:23 PM
1. Superwoman
2. For Once In My Life
3. If You Really Love Me
4. Knocks Me Off My Feet
5. My Cherie Amour
6. Overjoyed
7. Master Blastin
8. Sir Duke
9. Saturn
10. Summer Soft
11. You Haven't Done Nothin'

Not necessarily in this order. Sorry I couldn't stop at 10. He is my all-time favorite. Best concert I ever saw (disclaimer -- I never saw Bruce). He played for 2 1/2 hours straight and was phenomenal.

If you are "new" to him, get Songs in the Key of Life and Innervisions first.

Isn't She Lovely, though I'll freely admit to not listening to enough SW

this is very very close to my stevie list. I could listen to stevie all day, and still not listen to stevie enough.

Higher Ground.

You can pick up The Definitive Collection which spans his career. Has all the biggies. Even has a recording of him when he was 12. My 6yo digs the hell out of Superstition and Livin for the City. Great stuff.

I've heard a recording of him playing live as a teenager and he sounded great. also, he recorded "talking book" when he was 22 or so, and frequently plays all the instruments on his records. a really amazing guy all around.

This is great. How I left it off my list is a mystery. It was my wedding song.
