I know there was a post about this awhile back, and I've done the search but cant find it. A friend of mine keeps going on and on about how we never landed, which I think is total BS. But he has a ton of knowledge on the subject and the various websies he has shown me are quiet compelling.

I remember in the post there were several people with lots of knowledge on the subject, if you could post some links or something, id be grateful, cuz this is one theory I'd like to show him is BS

He does not have a ton of knowledge if he believes this line of crap. Just let it go. Move on.

The older thread ("1969 Moon Landing -- real or a hoax?") is here (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Number=1364603&page=&view=&s b=5&o=) .

have fun.

I don't see how NASA making a hoax website to prove a hoax wasn't really a hoax does anything for the credibility of the BS "we went to the moon" line they give us to justify the waste of tax dollars.

Alright, seriously, I'll come clean and won't edit away. I was joking, yes. I think people who believe the moon landing was a hoax should be allowed to go on thinking this. They should also start playing poker.

My 62 year old retired dad worked in Mission Control during the gemini, apollo, and skylab missions doing navigations at Mission Control. He had one employer all his life (NASA, 33 years) and took several different positions through his employement.

He constantly tells me old school stories, including the apollo's shuttlecraft computers had 64k in memory on board. You have more room in a cellphone or ipod than that. He also was in MC during Apollo 13. He tells me how the naviagtions team was not even sure if what they calculated to get the crew home would actually work.

My vote is the moon landing was real. Several reasons, video shot of takeoffs/orbiting in space/moon video, etc. 2nd, back in the 60's people weren't trying to create a false image. It was raw engineering and mathematics at its finest. Its also hard to judge picture stills from that time. A picture back in 1969 is not nearly as clear as they are today. Lastly, my dad is so country, old, and well, stubborn, I just would have a hard time believing something he put his entire's life work into was all just a sham on a movie set.

However many people have their opinions, so anyone can support their opinions on it with "legitiment" facts I will listen to their case.

I would think with today's technology, we have telescopes that are powerful enough to view the equipment left on the moon (lunar lander base, rover vehicle, etc.). Also I believe for one of the moon landings the astronauts left a mirror behind so that scientist could bounce a laser off of it to measure how far the moon is from the earth. If we never went to the moon how come there is a mirror on it?

This post is part of the government conspiracy. Do you see why? I'll let others discuss.

LOL

so you are saying that you believe there actually is such a thing as a moon?

If we faked the first trip to the moon because we couldn’t do it, why compound the risk of discovery by faking several more moon landings in quick succession? Why not quit while we're ahead? Why fake the Apollo 13 crisis?

Most compelling evidence to me is all the signals sent by the astronauts and recieved by various radio telescope dishes around the world. To fake this would be hard than going to the moon, so all the astronomers at all of the radio telescopes used would have to have been in on it, and I've personally talked to one of these dudes, he seemed trustworthy...

Yeah, especially the Soviet Union, who was in a bitter space race with us during the height of the cold-war. Don't you think that we would have heard something from them if the moon landing(s) were faked?
