Very good 40/80 at Commerce this weekend. I'm on the button with AhKh. UTG, who's too loose pre-flop and somewhat tricky/aggro post-flop, raises. Folded to me and I 3-bet. Blinds fold and UTG caps.

Flop: 6d5h4h

Villain bets, I raise, he 3-bets, I call.

Turn: Ad

Villain checks, I bet, he raises, I 3-bet, he calls.

River: 6c

Checked around.

Comments appreciated for all streets.

good check...these types of players are those that raise 55,44 (66) UTG. that ace did not appear to phase him and he knows it clearly helped you.

betting here is asking for trouble...i dont think he's 3betting KK on the turn...and if he is, he already paid his showdown bet you would have gotten. If he has something like AQ, why would he 3bet the flop? AK is the only hand you want him to have given the play...

i see this with 55/44/66 all the time...do not bet that river. its a trap.

sorry you lost but you'll get him next time.

can you explain why didn't bet the river? i don't see AA, as he didn't cap the turn...

are you thinking this is just going to a chop?

btw for some reason almost all commerce regulars check the river if they have only have one pair, it seems like they never value bet

i think i fell into the analyzing commerce as if it were a place that existed in reality...in NORMAL casinos, people who are too loose preflop and tricky agro post flop will often raise low pairs or low suited connectors in early position with hopes of getting AK or AA/KK/QQ to 3bet and the board coming 257 or a26 where no straight is possible and they have a set, and the opponent has AK one pair, or an overpair to the 257 flop...they also do it with the suited connectors because if the flop comes 347 and somebody 3bets them with 77, they not have the nuts and will get MANY MANY bets from 77 if the board still looks harmless [347TQ]...imagine if you have QQ and 3bet this guy after he raises in EP...you'll go off for ALOT here as he has the nuts and you're stuck with top set...

in this case, they would also then play it the same way and check the river in order to checkraise their boat...

BUT, as has been stated many times...commerce is clearly a different alternate universe/reality.

he can...and at commerce he very well might...but i dont see them going off for that many bets on the flop or turn with just an ace since hero didn't state that the guy was retarded...seems he's just a fairly knowledgable player who's just too loose preflop and agro tricky postflop...

I agree, my play on the turn vs the river is inconsistent. When he called the 3-bet, I had a strong suspicion that I was behind.

When we checked, he said "You check? Then you lose!" and threw down his 55. He said he swore that I had Aces.
