Folding the turn is an option, but I like the way you played it. You need to be ahead about 1/3 of the time here to call down. It's close, and if BB is very passive postflop I fold the turn. If he's aggressive or neutral rather than very passive, I like your line.

I had just got to the table, I wanted to fold it on the turn but didn't bring myself to it.

I fold the turn. The pots is small and since you raised pf villian has no reason to think that A missed you unless he has one. You're most lekly behind an A or better and have 5 outs at most. You lose this hand way more than you might think and you have to spend 2BB to call it down. Make the pot bigger or throw in some weak callers and you can see the river.
