I played in the $100 + 20 Sunday night tournament at the Taj Mahal tonight.

We had only 64 players.

The Taj now spreads two no limit tournaments a day on the weekends.

Saturday the Taj runs a $100 + 20 no limit tournament at 11:00 am and then at 6:30 pm the Taj runs a $300 + 40 no limit tournament.

Sunday they spread a $100 + $20 at 11:00 and at 6:30.

I played the Sunday AM and we had something like 80-90 players. Much tighter lineup than usual.

I'm hoping to play the Sunday AM one in two weeks (27th).

I'm a little surprised there's so little people playing. I went on a weekday in December and there were like 400 players. Also I once tried to play in the Trop's Sunday AM tourney and couldn't get in when it maxed out at close to 200. Maybe it's because they're new and no many know about them?

Every time I play at Trop, they max at 90. Where do they fit 200?

They had two rows of tables near the back door to the poker room for the tourney. There were 16 tables of 11 I believe, for 176 max.

On their webpage they claim that like every tournament averages over 100.

Mike this something new? Perhaps Taj's angle to combat lost profits to the Borgata on the weekends? How much are they really making here in these tourneys vs spreading rings? Perhaps its a move to induce ring game play after the tourney?

What's your thoughts on their line?

BTW, I'll be down at the Borgata this weekend.

Also, umm...how'd ya do last night in the tourney? /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thats the going rate these days.

I find it hard to believe that they run a $300 + $30 every Saturday.

I busted out before the final table. We had four tables left. I turned a set and went all in, the chip leader called and hit his flush. Next case /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Without a doubt the tournament drew a lot of new players to the room. I sat down in a pseudo no limit game ($1-$2 blinds $300 max)for a few hours and several newbies who busted out of the tournament played in the game.

BTW, I'll be down at the Borgata this weekend.

So will I most likely.

Chenzo,

The Trop maxes out at 188.

They utilize the back room by the horse book.

Gotcha. I can see that they would do that. I was there a few days before New Year's and they capped at 90. They also capped at 90 over the summer, but I have played there about 4 times.

Wit to see the shirt I will be wearing. You'll me from the AC expressway!
