Hi all;

From time to time (hopefully more than less /images/graemlins/wink.gif) You sit down at the table and after 1 hour you have a stack of say 4 or more buy ins. And youre probably either the Big Stack or the second Big stack how do you guys play from here?

1. Ignore this fact & continue playing the same
2. Start playing much more loose especially in LP
3. Try to steal every blind there is
4. Pretend youre a manic

I would really appreciate your thoughts on this as I have no idea of how to adjust my play

1: this is ok, but you're giving up profit.
2: don't play looser, play more aggressivly, bluff a little more, semi-bluff a lot more, make it clear that you'll go allin if reraised. push on draws a lot more often (your short stacked opponents may win one or two, but they only have to lose one)
3: blind stealing isn't that valuable in NL. steal on the flop instead. that said, make bigger preflop raises than normal, and raise preflop with slightly weaker hands than normal.
4: pretend, nothing. be a mainiac (as long as you can make good folds when needed) condition the table so they only bet at you with the nuts.

all IMHO, of course. i am an extremly aggressive player with a deep stack.

You can steal a lot more. I play the same hands but raise more with hands that I wouldn't raise with normally. I'll push my PFR from 5X to 6-8X.

I don't play well enough to start winging it with the hands I play.

Given the fact that you will occasionally suckout or connect very well with a flop, this starts to annoy people and will likely put the table on tilt. Then you can sit back and punish people with a strong hand.

...or double them up /images/graemlins/frown.gif

ahhh the beauty of a really big stack. you can double them up once, even twice or more and still have them covered. if you get players that want to try to keep doubling on you, let em. encourage them. they have to win every time, you only have to suckout once. it's like getting 4-1. sweet.

I do not change my style, except when there's another big stack involved, as it should.

if after an hour you have 4 buyins... you're in a groove, dont change your strat cause you now have chips to burn.
