I was in the Bellagio today and saw their renovations in progress. The whole poker room and some extra space towards the entrance of the O Theatre has been completely walled off. It looks like they'll be able to squeeze in another ten tables or so.

During renovations, all the games are being played on the main floor in the same way tournament tables are spread during their big events.

Do you know when the renovations are supposed to be completed? I have a friend who will be making his first vegas trip soon and it would be a shame if he could't see the Bellagio room.

I've got no idea. But, because they walled off the whole room (from floor to ceiling), I get the impression they're doing more than just adding space. There's probably some other stuff going on such as redesigning the high-limit are and maybe some wiring.

It took the Mirage less than a week to expand their room. So, it shouldn't take the Bellagio any more than a week.

The room sucks anyway. All things are certainly relative, but the Bellagio poker room is nothing important. Come to Commerce, or somewhere that matters.

The Bellagio room sucks? Unlike Commerce, the Bellagio has class, and it's a better room than Commerce any day of the week.

U beat me to the punch. I just went upstairs to post this mid-trip report. Yes the poker room is being renovated, but the players are still worse than the East Coast. I am playing 8/16 (I thought they had 9/18 with $3 chips... whomever posted that previously had incorrect information) and its a slaughter. I love at the local table captains teling the tourists how to play, its hysterical.Too bad the locals don't have a clue either.

The renovation will be completed by April 4th, with the grand re-opening in time for the WPT tournament.

I heard two months. Don't know why it would take that long, but that's what I overheard from the floorperson.

Class? Wait, you're looking for class in a poker room? Umm, OK. Good Luck.

Very few of the locals do have a clue to be honest with you.

Just got back from a week long poker binge. The area (can't exactly call it a room) was pretty chaotic--they'll prolly have it straightened out soon, but for now it's a madhouse. The floor is in the middle of the casino, so it's surrounded by railbirds (didn't help that Doyle, Ivey, Reese et al were playing 2k-4k or somethin').

A dealer told me they're adding ten tables, and it should be complete in about two months (in time for the spring tournaments).

Good luck,

I think the Bellagio's poker room is (or was) much nicer than the Commerce.

Interesting. I would think it would make more sense to leave the Bellagio alone and make sure that the Wynn has a sufficiently large poker room to meet all the demand.

Wynn no longer owns Bellagio, they are competitors.
