View Full Version : hand history parsing

08-23-2002, 09:41 PM
i have recently written bots that parse nearly everyone online poker site's hand history pages. this then feeds all the data into a database and provides charting and play style analysis for any player on any site.

what are the stats i should be calculating? the obvious has already been done (% flops seen, average pot won, average net loss on losing hands etc...) what do you look for in play style that i could isolate?

i have ALL the data broken out perfectly, so any suggestion could be coded up nearly instantly.

let me know what you think

Seems like overkill to request every

single hand history.

The stats I like to use are flop% and

raise first in preflop%.

This indicates how loose/tight and

passive/aggressive the player is preflop.

Next I like fold% on the flop.

This shows me if I can take a stab at

the flop with nothing in a HU or 3 handed

situation. It's also a good general

indicator of how loose/tight they are

on all post flop rounds.

Beyond that just complicates things for me.

There are many other stats I would like

to see PokerStat incorporate, but they

are based on my own play/results, not opponents.

original poster is compiling a program that will exploit YOUR and everyone elses play style, based on actual cards you have played..

why would you give someonle like this any help?

Sounds like he's trying to reinvent the wheel.

Maybe just not as round.

I really can't think of too many ways

how you could apply 50000 hands from an

opponents vs. only a few hundered hands.

At least in the heat of battle.

This guy is considering stats like, when

my opponent loses a pot, what is the avg.

size?

Who gives a krap. Maybe he'll download 10000

hands played by my wife in the .50/$1 limit.

Now I feel sorry for him.
