Hello, you need to raise a lot more preflop, something like 100. It's especially important to raise large when you are in one of the blinds.

That's your first mistake. Play $5.50 on PS or $11 on PP, not the $6 on PP.

I'll see what I can do...

What does this mean to you? More specifically, do you know which hands you are going to be playing pre-flop and how you will be playing them? (The Socratic method seems to be working for Scuba, so here goes)

Dealt to hero [ Qc Qh ]

[/ QUOTE ]

Looks solid to me. I'd raise.

[ QUOTE ]

hero raises [35].

[/ QUOTE ]

But at least three times this amount (perhaps 100-120) with 4 callers already in the pot and sitting out of position in the BB.

** Dealing Flop ** [ 8s, 6d, 6s ]

[/ QUOTE ]

Nice flop. Of course, you're getting f*cked if one of those limpers came in cheaply with a 6.

[ QUOTE ]

hero bets [100].

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, this is what, a bit more than half the pot? You need to play this more aggressively up against so many limpers. An A or a K and your hand is most likely no good.

[ QUOTE ]

** Dealing Turn ** [ Ks ]

[/ QUOTE ]

Ugh. With all those guys you've been stringing along with weak bets, this dooms your hand to second best.

[ QUOTE ]

taljul bets [250].

[/ QUOTE ]

So, do you have him beat? I doubt it and I wouldn't be willing to find out for such a steep price on level 1.

[ QUOTE ]

hero folds.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah.....so it goes.

Okay, so your pre-flop bet was weak -- there were too many limpers to play QQ (a hand that is not nearly as strong as you probably think at this point in a SNG) very well severely out of position. Then, when you get one of the best possible flops, you bet just enough to entice callers and not enough to buy the pot. But, the good news is you still had quite a bit of equity until the K hit. Some players can't get away from a hand like QQ no matter what's on the board so good job folding.

What are your thoughts in this hand? Without them I can merely tell you how I'd play it but can't help you with your own thought process to prepare you for the next QQ hand on level 1 you end up playing.
