OK, so I've downloaded some movies from BitTorrent and they're in XVID format. I'd like to play these movies on my DVD player (which is not DVIX compatabile) using a CD. I don't have a DVD burner, but I've burned movies in the past onto a CD, which my DVD player played. I have forgotten how I did that. What should I do?

I used to do this. the problem was the sound and video quality really sucks. you'd be better off connecting your computer to your TV

Right, how do I do this?

I thought that xvid was a special format that couldn't be put on to vcds?

If it can, how do I make a VCD?

Not an option, I switched to a twin video card for two monitors and it doesn't have that special plug.

hey, xvid as it is can't be put on a vcd. you'll need to transcode the files first. it's usually a long, pain the ass process, but kinda cool when you're done.

there's a bunch of guides here (http://www.videohelp.com/convert) that will help you.

converting xvid to dvd is so whack...

they have divx/xvid dvd players now-a-days that are pretty cheap, or fire it to your hacked up xbox.

if you don't plan on doing this regularly and need to convert this rare find go to doom9.org or vcdhelp.com (might be dvdhelp.com now... doom9 is better though)

otherwise download the (s)vcd's cause converting is a pain and the quality will drop
