Does anybody have a reference/link for the WSOP event structures? blind levels + antes, time between levels, starting chips, etc?

The starting stacks are equal to the buy-ins. In the 2K event, you starty with 2K in chips. In the main event you start with 10K.

This is all I know.

May have been on (yikes!) RGP a while ago that Savage stated all tournys are 'dollar for dollar.' 10k buy in, 10k in chips, etc.

Main event has 2 hour levels, starts 25/50 blinds.

Not to nitpick, but I think it starts 25-25.

Nope, it starts at 25,50 blinds.

Some of the smaller events, where you start with less chips, do begin at 25,25 blinds.

Last year a bunch of the first few levels (maybe first 8-10 levels) were shortened to 100 minutes b/c of the huge field. Then on Day 3 or 4 they were jacked to 2 hours.

greg,

how many events will you play this this year's WSOP?

Greg (FossilMan)

Uncertain, but probably more than half.

Bump...I've done a bit of searching and can't find info on 10k blind structures. Anyone?

Oops, thanks for that.

Are there any SHOE or HORSE or the like events going on this year?

Would anyone be able to specify what the complete structures are for the different events? I know the starting chips is equal to the buyin. I'm interested in some of the $1500 events.

Blinds start at 25/25? How fast do they go up? Every hour? What are the next levels?

Tks

I'd be grateful for a reliable answer to this, too. I've had inconsistent info from (now doubt well-meaning) folks on this board before. Thanks.

I have no intent on playing but I am just thinking about one event...What would the structure for the 1000 Stud8 event this year be? I would imagine it would be a jumpball type of structure if you only start with 1000 chips...

I understand $ for T$ in a 10K buy-in, but what about the WSOP circuit events where the buy-in is $200 or $500?

Greg,

Do you prefer playing in events where the blinds rise like they do in the main event? Where they are doubled or whatever every hour or two.

I much prefer playing in tourneys with friends when the blinds are kept small relative to the stacks because it rewards good postflop play instead of lots of all-ins preflop as the blinds start to increasingly eat away at people's stacks. In some of the tournaments I play with them, they[my friends] insist on doubling the blinds every 15 minutes or so, and yet we only start with chips = to 40 Big Blinds. So if blinds start at 5/10 then we only start with 400 chips and they double every 15 minutes. This turns the tournaments into crapshoots, in my opinion, especially towards the end. Whoever gets the best hands in the first 30 minutes has the best chance of winning the tournament.

At the end of the tournaments we are down to 2 people and both have around 2400 chips combined, and the last blind level they set is 100/200. This level is absolutely horrible, because it's just all in every hand.

I think that luck plays a much bigger factor in these tournaments.

Thanks much,
Dead

The deeper the stacks, the slower and smaller the increases, the more I like my chances of winning. And I will say that whether the competition is weak or strong. I like playing deep stack big bet poker. ;-)

Got a little more info... I'm playing next week in a couple of smaller WSOP circuit events.

For the $200 buyin, you start with T$800. Blinds start at 5/10, 40 min rounds.

$500 buyin, start with T$1000, 45 min rounds, 25/25 starting blinds.

The 500 buyin structure does not sound that great

I might be mistaken here but I think the circuit blind structures are different from main world series events that take place in july in vegas.

What about any information on the 2k or 3k buy in NL or limit HE events? I understand that you start with the number of chips the buy-in is for. But what about the blind structures for these tournies. I will hopefully be playing in the smaller events so I would like to know what to expect.
