I just heard on the radio that Kyle Lohse won his salary arbitration case and was awarded $2.5 million bucks. He was making $345,000. Nice raise after going 9-13 with a 5.34 ERA.

Old Charley Finley sure had this one nailed. Way back when the original CBA that included arbritration was approved by the owners Charley O, fought tooth and nail against the salary arbitration aspect but the other owners viewed it as a throw in to get the deal done. He was pretty astute for a whacko.

Charlie also wanted every player made a free agent every year. Marvin Miller fought tooth and nail against that because he realized with 30+ shortstops on the market every winter, none would be getting $25M a year. He, also, was astute, for a pinko communist baseball Hall Of Famer...
