Stupid, dumb, walking with drink poll

After spilling coffee all over myself at work today I need to reevaluate my gross motor skills. What is the optimal way to walk around with a cup/mug filled with coffee/soda etc.

Walking extremely slowly is not an option. What is the best way to be careless.

You're right about the stupid question part.

1. bring your own mug to work, one that has a lid.

2. If you have to use a lidless cup, you hold it with your thumb and index finger and you hold it away from your body.

I actually had been using the PokerStars stainless steel travel mug, but I think the cleaning crew at night stole it.

I do normally use a mug with a top but I had to resort to a crap paper cup.

Apparently your visual system is much worse at controlling your arm and hand than your vestibular (balance) system is. Thus the optimal way is to not look at the coffee cup as you're walking.
