I noticed people in the cafeteria this morning lined up to fill up large containers of Coke. Highly sweetened, carbonated, cold drink first thing in the morning--this is pretty disgusting, right?

My workday nearly always starts with a can of pepsi. I'm enjoying one right now.

Diet Dr Pepper at 6:00am every morning.

I drink it instead of coffee.

Yep, it's objectively disgusting.

I had a roommate who drank Coke like water. I thought it was disgusting when he woke up at 9am and cracked a can. Not to mention the health issues doing that creates (drinking obscene amounts I mean, not a can in the morning).

I had this happen to me in Wawa one morning. I'm getting a large fountain Coca-Cola at like 9AM. Its the middle of summer and its already around 90 outside.

Somebody asks me, How can you drink a Coke in the morning?

Bunky's reply. "how can you drink hot coffee when its 90 degrees outside? Who's the moron now?" Never said a word after that.

does having cheeseburgers before 7AM propose a problem for people? /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I'm on a strict 2 diet cokes every morning(sometimes throw a curve ball with diet CHERRY coke). It helps me wake up.

If I don't drink diet coke in the morning, I get headaches all day.

Plus I don't like coffee.

For some reason...it doesn't matter what my sleep schedule is I just can't drink coke between 4a-12p.
Not sure why but it totally disgusts me at these times.

I used to drink a ton of soda (regular or diet) in the evening hours but have curtailed that somewhat in the past year or so.

I also can't stand Pepsi out of a can or bottle...but out of fountain it's okay because it tastes very different to me.

It's fine to eat cheeseburgers late at night.

I always have a cola in the morning. Like you said, it is my coffee, since I don't drink coffee.

I always though it was odd that a lot coffee drinkers ask me how I can drink Coke first thing in the morning.

The only problem here is that it's damn near impossible to get a burger before 10:30am and I'll be damned if I'm going to cook one myself at 7am.

White Castle has zero relationship with burgers.

I think so.

In college I probably wouldn't have thought so, but that was before I drank coffee really. Now I can't fathom drinking something like that so early in the morning, unless there's Royal Crown mixed in it.

I drink Diet Coke in the morning because that is about as much caffeine as I can handle. Real coffee sends me bouncing off the walls.

I'm sure either works as a good mixer, though.

Not to mention, I just felt like being a smartass this morning. /images/graemlins/cool.gif

I'm with the others who can't drink Coke in the morning. Just doesn't sit right with me for some reason.

Not at all.

I lug 4 cans of Pepsi One each day to the office. One for every 2 hours I work.

I even take 2 Excedrin for an extra caffinated buzz....

Ugh, I personally can't even tell that soda has caffiene in it. I just like the taste. In the mornings though, I have been known to take down a RockStar at high speeds. Overall I prefer coffee/espresso. Especially first thing.

Around here the local luncheonettes open at 5AM and will cook burgers for you if you order them. Nothing like a coke and a cheeseburger @ 6:30 AM.

ive never drank coffee but maybe once when i was a lil kid and wanted to try my moms, I think im one of the only girls alive not OBSESSED with starbucks. A few years ago i used to drink coke 1st thing in the morning (but it was never to wake me up...i just liked it...needed the taste) and couldnt comprehend the people that drank anything else especially water (it used to make me sick to drink water 1st thing cause it was nothingness hitting your stomach)! But back then i would also drink at least 6 cokes a day.

Now I can't drink coke hardly at all (mainly b/c of a surgery I had) and i drink water 1st thing and all day, i rarely drink anything but water, no caffiene, no nothing, and I function better now. I can only drink coke now if it has ice in it and it has sat there for a lil bit (watered down) otherwise its just too "heavy"

I'm usually good for a 20oz coffee every morning...minimum.

As for the summer, well, that's what they invented ice coffee for, right? /images/graemlins/grin.gif
