Well, I am sitting at my computer in the 4th floor lobby of my dorm watching 7 guys play poker. I go to school down in Texas so they pretty much look like white trash. I go to a good school so I guess they must not be totally retarded.

As i sit here playing 10/1 party poker and doing Calc. homework i listen to them brag about how good they are. They asked me if i wanted to play about 9 times but i refused every time. They laugh at each other saying, " Come on its just five bucks, and we suck at poker, we aren’t good at all" As they throw around 10 cent bets with $5.00 buy-ins I am making $35+ an hour two tabling.

I introduced party poker to 5 of the people on my floor whom i play with nearly every day. All of them together are up about 3,000 which starting in December isnt half bad.

What do I do to get these guys to buy in with more $ so my buddies can take all their money.

I assume they're playing crazy dealer calls/ wildcard galore type games... just wanting to kill off some time and trade pocket change. Point being they would proly get bored in a limit casino-style game.

I'd suggest having tournaments. Starting with a 10 dollar buy-in. Then they'll be playin' like the pros on TV and everybody can have a good time.

www.homepokertourney.com (http://www.homepokertourney.com) has excellent information on how to host tourneys.

They've invited you to their game so they sound friendly and might be a good group of guys have a couple o' beers with over a game of cards (despite what they may look like). Plus, ultra-weak casual homegame players are less shy about joining a tourney- can't lose the tuition money if the buy-in's under 20 bucks. 5 or 10 is probly a good starting place on campus while new players just start coming in.

Don't worry so much about taking all their money- more to be made online anyways...

Leave the "poker ego" at the door if you play with 'em (or other casual players for that matter)... doesn't do anyone any good... you may come off as a bit too intense and they won't enjoy playing with you. No profits to be made that way- financially or socially.

Sounds like they have a good time playin'... If you invite 'em to play tourneys, everybody wins! They still have a good time and the better players get a bit extra beer money.
