Any truth to the rumor that paypal will no longer transfer funds to and from online poker sites?

Yes, once the merger with Ebay goes through, Paypal will no longer be able to be used for online gambling. This will take 4 to 5 months. There should be other good alternatives by then, and there already is Firepay/Netteller.

Unfortunately, yes, it is true. Although EBAY's purchase of Paypal does not have an immediate effect on non-sportsbooks, your Paypal account will still be a deposit option for likely the next 6 months. However, we do expect that this payment solution will not be available for the long term and accordingly we are going to be offering our clients a few other equally user-friendly solutions, such as the soon to be introduced in Paradise, www.neteller.com (http://www.neteller.com)

Stay tuned to the deposits link on our website for more information as it is released: http://www.paradisepoker.com/real_money.html

Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

Dynamite:

Thank you for your inquiry.

The latest information we have from PayPal is that they are no longer doing

business with their sports betting merchants.

As far as poker sites go, there are no immediate plans to discontinue the

relationship.

Thank you for writing to us.

PayPal will no longer process transactions for Sports Books after August 28.

They will continue to work with us for the time being most likely until at

least the end of December.

We are evaluating other options to replace PayPal if and when they stop

processing transactions for poker sites.

I also mailed UB in the vain hope that their customer service would come up with an answer that could be understood and didnt get much of a reply, other than they accepted that paypal were going to stop around xmas.

I didnt bother mailing Party as anyone who has ever tried to use their customer services would understand.

As for the others, well, why bother, I never succeeded in getting money into True anyway, and Planet, ACR, Pokeroom have more pressing issues (like why the hell is your software so crap)

As always, Paradise are making sure they are okay whilst the others are sticking their heads in the sand, alas Netteller will need to upgrade if europeans are going to be able to play.
