At 90 players in PokerStars' round one tournaments for their $100K Giveaway, you start to lose ground.

Nine places pay each 1000 FPP, that's the buyin for round two, that's 9000 FPP. At 90 players, you have reached the breakeven point and the house keeps all FPP above that.

Round two's, at 1000 FPP, works the same way, at 90 players it starts to go negative because you can get into round three for 10,000 FPP.

Now a better than average player, but this is about a $25 cash value for RD two, will be able to compound that by better play. If the RD 1 and RD 2 tournaments get 180 players each then the average player playing in these sats is losing HALF the value of their FPP.

Now, what is the cash value of PokerStars FPP? If the T-shirt I'm wearing is about $10 and when you can use your FPP to buy them, at 400 FPP, it's 2.5 cents per FPP.

That would make a the final rounds buyin of 10,000 FPP about $250. If the final rounds get only get 200 players each, 13 weeks of round twos will add 117 players, then 2.5 cents per FPP is about right.

If PokerStars adds ways to enter into the finals beyond the once a week RD 2 tournaments and the 10,000 FPP buy-in then the value of a FPP could drop below 2 cents.

Good job the offer isnt limited to one fpp earner per household, or the alarming drop in the exchange rate could bust some people's bankrolls.
