Vegas Casino bets on RFID article (http://news.com.com/Vegas+casino+bets+on+RFID/2100-7355_3-5568288.html?tag=st.prev)

No changing displays but still cool/scary. Maybe your LCD inlay chips will happen some day /images/graemlins/grin.gif

OT link: Someday you'll have some big bro incident at a casino similar to this (http://www.adcritic.com/interactive/view.php?id=5927) except it'll be "sir are you sure you want to rebuy again, you're obviously on tilt raising on the turn with that kicker out of position and considering you just dropped a dime on craps after getting hit up for a few blacks from your wife who I might add seems to be doing quite nicely at the BJ table right now... maybe you should give that a try etc..."

RFID tournament chips will allow live TV coverage. The announcers will know constantly how much each player has, how much each player just bet and will probably know before the dealer does when someone is short a chip on a call.

Someone said that the current system can only read a stack of 18 chips and it's rather slow. Takes about 7 secs to read.
