Opponent's cold call on flop is interesting, then the A hits the turn. Check-fold time.

I think I played the hand well until the river, I should have check-folded. He has to be bluffing 20% of the time for me to make this call, and I know this isn't true. I was more curious as to what he had. I felt he either had a flush draw, or QT/QJ, AK did not cross my mind. How could you limp there with that hand, call a pot sized bet on the flop with ace high? In fact I felt an ace would be a scare card if he had one of the hands I thought he had, but this couldnt be further from the truth. I will say this, I bet his hand for him and he got paid off pretty well.
