my favorite hand of all time was at 2/4 limit. I call one raise in the BB with QJ. Flop comes QQJ and me and the guy with JJ cap the betting with one guy calling. turns is a 8, betting is capped, one guy calling all bets still. river is a 8, giving the caller quads. classic /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I'd be wary of following Lorinda's advice, here. I should have settled for a boat.

Running eights are my horror story as well.

Pacific 5/10, I get bad larries (QJ) in the cutoff, I limp along with 5 others, sb completes, bb raises, 7 to the flop. Flop comes AKT rainbow giving me a broadway helping of nuts, BB bets, 2 calls, 1 fold, hero raises, button calls, sb folds, BB 3 bets, 1 caller, I cap, button calls, 4 to the turn. Turn is an 8 adding a potential flush draw. BB bets, 1 fold, hero raises, button folds, BB 3 bets, hero caps. River is another 8, bb bets, I call fearing the AA or KK boat, villian shows A8 for the monster pot.
