The best part about this is that she/he reloaded after the next hand.

he's chopping with 99 88 77 66 55 33 and 22, and you played your hand as if you either had that or you were slowplaying a jack. most people won't bet a naked ace on the river. i don't necessarily think this was a bad call.

he is not chopping with 99, 88, 77 because the high card plays.

you're right. for some reason i converted the 4 to a high card when it came to chops, my error.

His call is pretty inexplicably bad. And since calls like this (which will be rare even if they do occasionally happen) are the only thing that can ever make betting better than checking, your river bet is pretty bad too.

This n of 1 stuff to address the issue of whether the 15/30 games on Party are getting tougher is worthless. Does anybody have any real data bearing on this topic?

Amen to that. I don't know how many times players at a table have accused me of party-like stupidity. Hell, sometimes they are right. But I guess you've never misread the board, have you? At least on party you can't misread your hole cards. That can be embarrasing, "Threes full of aces no good, I've got nines full of.... a pair of eights....I've got a pair of eights."

I don't really care if party is getting tougher or not - it is still poker. These stories can be fun though.

This river bet could be either slightly bad, or extremely good, depending on how you look at it.

I think it's actually pretty good.
