08-07-2002, 04:17 PM
Saw on this rgp. 24hpoker.com has low limit games with no rake until their grand opening next month. Sounds good to me. Anyone's played there before?

However, when something is too good to be true, users beware.

There is also no Paypal or Netteller yet with these people so depositing could be a problem.

I will try to answer any questions you have about 24HPOKER.com but will

refrain from any spamming.

It is natural to be suspicious of any new site, considering the history of

some gambling sites that has come and gone. And in some cases with the

players money as well.

A few lines about 24HPOKER.com and its history will hopefully disperse

some clouds on the sky.

Ownership

24HBET AB is a Swedish company with registered stockholholders based in

Stockholm in Sweden. 24H BET AB owns 3 companies in turn, 24HPOKER.COM,

24HBET.COM and UNITEDBET.COM, all of which is based on Malta. We have

received gaming licenses and pay a part of our turnover in taxes to the

Maltese governement. 24HBET.COM and UNITEDBET.COM are focus on

sportsbetting and software licensing to other sportsbooks. All of our

bookkeeping is audited by PriceWaterhouseCooper.

Background

We have been developing our own software for more than two years and been

running the sportsbetting since November 2001. In February 2002 we

released a betaversion of funmoney play for our poker software and began

testing for bugs. In the beginning of May we were confident of the

functionality and security of our software and opened up for real money

tables. During the summer we have been carefully monitoring all play and

all transactions in order to be able to offer the best environment

possible when we have our grand opening on September 1st. We did not want

to rush ahead the last few months after such a long period of software

development and not be prepared to give good service to our clients.

Management

The founders name and CEO is Per Hildebrand, a Swedish gambling profile

and very well known in the betting and poker community in Scandinavia.

Maybe some of you met him at the last WSOP-event? It is thanks to Mr

Hildebrand that so many Scandinavians have been participatng in our

betatesting and "pre-opening" real money games.

During this time we have had only a couple of tables fill up every evening

plus 2 tournaments per night. As a courtesy for our first customers we

have not charged any rake or any fees during this period. In return,

people have not complained so much about not being able to find their

preferred game at all times.

The future

We intend indeed to charge a rake, starting Sep 1st and will then,

hopefully, make money. Initially we will offer a reduced rake and will try

to keep a much lower rake than our competitors. But promotions and other

features, i will try to keep out of this forum, however much I am tempted

to use this as a marketing channel. I will however, of course answer any specific questions about promos, should you want details. But please check our homepage first.

Security

In order to induce trust, all our clients funds are kept at a locked

account in the bank, not available for any business expenditures. So even

if we will not be successfull, the players money will be refunded. That

money is not our property and is not and will never be used for anything

else than client withdrawals. This is also supervised by

PriceWaterhouseCooper.

In conclusion

Well, we realize we have a tough journey ahead. But we also have the

ambition to change the online gambling scene. We have a legitimate

business and will use our openess as one weapon in a very competitive

market.

If you do intend to try us out, the best time to do that will probably be

between Sep 1st-10th, but you are of course welcome before that as well.

Best time of day would be around 12PM-8PM (New York time)at the moment.

I will also try and answer any questions you might have. Please post here

but send me a copy to my email marketing@24hpoker.com as well in order to

ensure an answer immediately. I will of course check here as well but my mail is even faster.

And please excuse any errors in the language. My

mothertoungue is Swedish.

Yours sincerely

Ive tried it- the money came back to cc-card. but the only open table right now semes to be 1-2 or 2-4 HE

Maybe it will be better after the opening.

they said that they are negotiating with paypal.

If they dont get hooked up to one of the online

methodes of payments and withdrawl, I seriously doubt they will make it- but I guess they know that also.

But opening a site with lower rake might really start something that will benefit us the players.

When they start they claime to have a 1.35$ rake max

I am happy to announce that we from today offer PayPal as a method of payment.

Furthermore, you are correct about the amount of rake we intend to take from Sep 1st. We will cap it at $1.35.

There is one addition though. From every raked pot we take $0.15 and put in a progressive Bad Beat Jackpot. This means that a total of $1.50 (max) will be raked, but the $0.15 will be given back to the players.

Also we will keep microlimit ($0.25/$0.50)totally rakefree (however, you are not eligable for the BBJ when playing those tables).

At the moment, it is also correct that there are only a couple of tables going but considering the lack of marketing so far, we are not at all surprised.

Best regards
