- UNC is the better team, especially in terms of consistency.

- Using something like their respective games vs. wake forest is a bad marker for comparison, because both teams were pretty much down the entire game. Duke had a tiny little spark with Redick hitting all those threes at the end.

- The Santa Clara game is officially irrelevant at this point.

- Duke's schedule has been pretty week up until the ACC regular season. Their OOC games were a joke and this is why they're ranked below UNC and Wake (RPI #2 thanks to OOC games)

- UNC's avg margin of victory = sick


The RPI rankings are pretty sick:
7 Duke 17-2 0.6564
8 North Carolina 19-2 0.6475

- Duke's biggest advantage is, of course, that of home court.

Prediction: Duke 83-80, down to the wire.

Hoping for a Duke victory.

Redick, Ewing, and Williams will get their points and play their normal solid game. This game is gonna come down to whether or not the role players like Dockery, Randolph, Nelson, and Melchionni are able to step it up tonight. If these guys have good games, Duke wins.

Duke absolutely must get the ball down to Williams early, to slow the tempo down and maybe get May into foul trouble, or at least wear him down a little bit.

If Duke can't or won't slow the game down, they're going to lose, just like they did against Wake. Carolina has too many horses to run with.

Good game, I give it to Duke they played some great D.
I was honestly suprised that the Heels were even in it at the end. Tough break on that last play, I really don't understand why Felton didn't just pull it from the top of the key, but i think they may have had a certain play in mind and it just fell apart with the stifling Duke D.

The re-match will be a barn burner for sure.

Damn that was a good one. I was worried the whole game. If McCants doesn't have an off night...damn UNC is good. Great game.

Gotta give credit where due. Duke did what it took to win. Nice defense ... totally disrupted our offense. McCants, damn, why couldn't he hit just one more 3? All those wretched turnovers. May had an awesome game, Manuel played some sweet D, Marvin Williams played great ... but 3 out of 7 top players having a good game wasn't enough.

Heck if you told me before the game that Felton would have 8 turnovers/3 assists, McCants 3-13, Jawad 1-6, and Noel 0-2, I would assume it was a blowout. We did play good defense and kept fighting. Good training for the tourney. /images/graemlins/grin.gif
