Stars $5 rebuy
I'm chipleader with about 1.6 million
2nd is about 1.2 million
3rd is about 600k
4th and 5th are around 400k

Normally, 1st is about $3600, 2nd is $2000, 3rd is $1300, 2nd is $1000, 5th is $800. Blinds are capped at 20k/40k with 4k ante.

We do a straight chipcount split and i get $2600. Do you guys thinks this is a good deal?

I like it, if you are dead set on dealing. I usually won't concider a deal in this situation. I'd rather get 2 more out and see where I'm at. At 3 an even chop would get you $2,300 so you did better than that. The question is how are you compared to the field? 2 of the stacks are around the 10BB mark. How desperate are they playing?

I guess it comes off bad, but I don't deal when I have any sort of significant chip lead. When I'm short I test the dealing waters. Personal preference really. You got a pretty good deal, but how happy were you with it? That is what counts.

I'd love to see a discussion on dealing here. I'm gonna run a search when i get a chance, but archive isn't the easiest to navigate.

Now let me get this straight. You guys actually got the 4th and 5th place positions to agree to a straight chipcount split?! Right now they have a 1/4 of your stack. So if you were paid $2,600, they each agreed to taking $650? When just simply busting out in 5th place would have paid them $800? I find this hard to believe. I think deal-making comes down to a personal decision, and the only person who can answer whether or not this was a good deal is you. Nice haul by the way. Congrats.

Pep.

No it was chipcount split on the money we were playing for. So everyone had something like $785 locked up, and we split the rest. So the final payouts were something like $2600,$2000,$1500,$1300,$1300.

I normally have a policiy against making deals, but somehow they convinced me. Since actual second place was $2000 and first was $3800, it seemed reasonable to take the deal, since with five people left I'm getting better than second place money. I've just never made a deal before and wanted to make sure I didn't get screwed.
