I hate this place and I usually like mexican food. I'm not really sure why I don't like it either.

Yeah, I agree. I went in there once and it was the most god-awful nasty-tasting Mexican food I'd ever had. Never went back.

Enter the hater who exclaims that Chipotle is not real Mexican food and that they suck because they use white rice in a burrito.

Cue it in 3... 2... 1...

It's because they use white rice in the burritos.

I think it was more than just the white rice, as I recall the salsa tasted funny too. But somebody must like it (besides the OP), because it's a big chain, I think.

yeah it's really [censored] good but really [censored] bad for you. they have one right near my girlfriend's school (UMD) and they wrote some article in the school newspaper that says it has like 2000 calories in it.

There was one right by my old job and someone sent around a Chipotle meal calculator site where you could put in the menu item you order, what you put into it, and then calculate the calories and fat.

The numbers were so ridiculous that a lot of people stopped going.

I don't think it is significantly worse than if you made the same thing at home.

My burrito has 37g of fat, and
925 calories. How about yours (http://www.chipotlefan.com/index.php?id=nutrition_calculator)?

This thing is BS...

A burrito with rice and salsa is 17g's of fat? Where is the fat coming from?

i was told that Chipotle's beans and tortillas were completely vegetarian. i don't eat there, so i have never gotten a chance to ask anybody.

ok i ate at qdoba and i thought it was clearly superior to chipotle. but a local burrito chain called tomatillo is better than both.

How would they not be, aren't beans and tortillas made from vegitables. Where would the meat come from?

You cook meat with them for flavor.

Try this:

Recipes (http://www.chipotlefan.com/index.php?id=recipes)

Says they have Bacon drippings but do not see any meat.

Also an ingredients link on that page.

I don't know their recipe. I've never even been to chipotle. But normally, there's meat in mexican beans. that's all i meant.

I've never had chipotle but that would make it pretty bad. Qdoba has absolutely no flavor and their guacamole sucks ass bigtime. I was thinking about making a poll one day:

What's the worst burrito place

Qdoba
Qdoba
Qdoba
chipotle
Baja Fresh
My local one
Aucopoco Fresh
Qdoba and it's not even close.

I really feel that qdoba is bad enough it needs to go into the poll four times.

Qdoba is terrible. Don't worry - Chipotle is actually much better.

"normally, there's meat in mexican beans."

lard. refried beans have lard in them. that's an animal fat product.

the rosarita vegetarian beans you get in store taste great, so veggie beans shouldnt really matter.

I guess there is one around here, about a block away from the baja fresh. I'll get around to trying it one of these days. Qdoba made me really wary of burrito places though.

How's their guacamole?
