View Full Version : Lessons from Sklansky

I was in Vegas in April and contacted Mr. Sklansky about taking a private lesson. I asked him some questions about what I should expect, what he expected from me, and what I should do to prepare. He told me to call him when I got out there.

I chickened out. I've always hated going to class unprepared, having the teacher call on me, and looking like an idiot. I didn't call him.

I'm going to Vegas again in December, and I'm thinking of calling him this time to take a private lesson, if he's available. I know some people here have had a session with him. What can I expect? What's his pedagogical style? I don't want to show up unprepared. If I decide to do this, I want to get as much as I can from it. What should I do to prepare?

Sklansky has said that it would help if you were familiar with his book Theory of Poker. If you are a beginner, did you tell him what limits you play?
