question for Ipod owners

If I own an Ipod, and I meet up with a friend who owns one, can I transfer him some songs with a firewire/link cable? ....or would I need to hook his Ipod up to my pc.

I'm not talking Itunes - just standard ripped mp3's

no, you can't. you can only transfer music from pc -> ipod, you can dl some 3rd party software that will let you go ipod -> pc (itunes won't let you do this).

#1 most assumed thing about Ipods that everyone gets pissed about.

I bought my girlfriend one and we thought we would just transfer songs from random peoples ipods.

There are plenty of programs that will do this for you. www.ipodlounge.com (http://www.ipodlounge.com) is a good place to start
