Borg. 40-80, ok kinda laggy but not great game,
I have AhAc in the SB, folded to a bad slightly laggy but generally just too loose player who opne raises in LMP, folded to me and I call, BB, calls.

Flop is Qd7d2h

I check, BB checks, LMP bets, I raise, BB folds, LMP 3 bets, I cap, he folds.

Well crap I guess I suck, was this a bad line? I did not want to try to check raise the turn b/c he would have checked behind w/most draws and mediem weak hands. So, I figured it was best to cap the flop and keep the lead.
comments, or is this all stanard and boaring?
Dave

Try re-raising pre-flop. Given the way you played it your line is fine. I might bet into and go for 3 bets but that's me.

sorry not enough info, i felt i was getting too muc respect, esp. pf and if i 3 bet pf i have a lot more trouble getting action when i am ahead. On the flop i Cr-ed instead of betting b/c there was some semblance of a draw on the flop and i wanted to put pressure on the BB.

The solution to this problem is to 3 bet weaker hands, not slowplay big hands.

i probably would have made it 3 bets to see where the raiser was at in the hand. if he would have capped it, you could have put him on a big pair, but if he would have just called you could put him on aq or kq and played the hand more aggressively.

I tend to agree, and I almost never ever slow play Aces preflop, but why is this spot so bad to slow play pf?
Dave.

Yeah, but when he dropped to your c/r and LMP follows with a 3 bet it's h/u now, no? How the street started still plays?

In this hand there is no cap on the flop

smoothcalling preflop is reasonable on occassion for deceptive purposes. your line postflop is fine. in this situation i would checkraise medium-small pairs along with draws, and often fold to conservative players who 3bet my small pairs. playing aces in this matter would work for me personally. if you fear that he is too capable of folding to a 4bet, and likely to check through the turn, then call the 3bet and lead the turn instead.
