stupid question

hey... i'm new to the site... well ... about two weeks now... and i have noticed most people who post hands all post in a certian way... is there a program they use or just type it all out? and if so how do they know the exact chip stacks of all the players before the hand... seems like there is a program which does it... if so could someone tell me where i could get this... thanks

Using the converter is highly recommended, by the way, if you want people to actually read your hands.

Cut and paste a hand history into the input box and click "convert hand." The result is printed into the output box. There's a "how to" link at the top, by the way.
