So far, they've all sucked. But I'm hopeful.

I didn't hear how much spots were this year. I remember in 2002 though they weren't even a million because of the economy. I'd say probably around 1.2-1.5 this year if I had to guess.

I just looked it up 2.4 mill

what a waste.

WOW... what a way to shoot your advertising budget in the head.

What kills me are the old commercials that they use. If you're going to pay that much to air a commercial, at least create a new one.

They will when they cook their books and the CEO runs away with a butload of cash while the stocks turn out to be worthless... but that doesn't happen in America.

"You're getting robbed" was funny. Overall, though, this is one of the worst years ever. Maybe they'll get better towards halftime.

I'll give props to Fed Ex/Kinko's for actually being original

Other than that, they've all been super lame

Yeah. Funny commercial, but I imagine that was the reason that no one had commented on it. By the way, what in the hell was that Bud Light commercial with the "scarface" rooster?

I didn't know Dennis Rodman was still interesting enough to get endorsements.

maybe not interseting enough, but probably cheap enough to get to appear

ClaytonN

Whoever has the most non-suck commercial this year is gonna come off golden.

Think about it, with so many bad commercials if your company comes up with the only marginally good one, people are gonna remember your product.

ClaytonN

Did it ever occur to Nascar that their format is, in fact, not "1 vs. 42" ?

Did anyone else think it was hilarious that there was a gigantic viking sitting behind Culpepper in the "Tomorrow" commercial?

Were those Wynn Las Vegas commercials national or just local Vegas commericals?

banditbdl
02-06-2005, 09:34 PM
Local only, we had some sweet Menard's (Hardware Store) commercials though.

How many times are they going to show that Mustang convertible commercial? It's still as lame as it was the first time I saw it.

I got a little chuckle out of it.

And the following careerbuilder.com monkey commercial was ok.

Maybe it's just me, but the commercials haven't been amazing for several years now. Yet every year people make the same stupid joke "Watching commercials tonight!!!" Honestly, I'm sure you could find something else to do with 4 hours of time.

I thought the smooth not rich versus the rich but not smooth comercial was the best, where the guy hits the remote to turn on some cool music and the camera pulls back and shows that he is in the midddle of a electronics showroom and his boss asks him where his name tag is.

TimTimSalabim

I've gotta go with the Ameriquest one with the cat as the best.

I liked the bud light skydiving ad. Also I thought the coolest promo was Volvo contest to send you to space. Never seen that before. Carrerbuilder.com was good with the monkeys. Also I thought the godaddy.com sold the product well.

Horrid ads: Degree, McDonalds, the mustang ad 3 times!

BottlesOf

I thought the best ones were the Ameriquest one with the cat and spilled suace, The FedExKinkos commercial that listed the ten things successful Super Bowl Commercials have, the spot for 24 that said the commercial cost 2.4 million dollars and it was "worth every penny," and the Annheuser-Busch ad where people in an airport applauded troops as they returned home.

None were that outstanding.

Unfortuneately I don't really know which were new to the superbowl as i don't watch much tv. I did think that there were some pretty decent commercials though. The one with the cat and tomato sauce was the best in my opinion. Also, the whoopy cusion one with the chimps, the bud light one where he was describing his fantasy and then decided on a grill and dog, "tomorrow", and the fedex with the list of common comercial things were also fairly funny. As far as godaddy.com goes, i think that the commercial did its job. When i saw it i immediately brought up the site to see what it was about. A lot of people were also doing the same thing as it took me about 15 min to finally get on regardless of the fact that the commercial was worthless. As far as commercials i straight up loathed were the Lebron gum one, the McDonalds Lincoln fry and mustang one. Great game though, finally a superbowl that came down to the wire.

Somehow I missed this.

From the ones I saw I liked the Pepsi - P.Diddy commercial and the Fed-Ex - Burt Reynolds the best. I also thought the Careerbuilder.com ones were cute.

Ptretty much everything else ranged from crappy to meh.

I'll also have to go with this one as best commercial. I probably only saw 75% of the commercials, but of the ones I saw, this one was far superior.

I agree that they played it to much (because they pulled the "priest abuse" comercial), but it was actually my favorite of the year
